Kaohsiung’s Shoushan Zoo and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) recently unveiled Taiwan’s first AI Smart Environmental Tracking System. This interactive system employs AUO SeeThrµ Transparent Touch MicroLED Displays that allow zoo-goers to track the movements of animals and tap the screen to access more information, such as details about diet and habit. Challenge
As a major Kaohsiung City landmark and an active participant in the city’s ongoing 5G and AI initiatives, Shoushan Zoo has been investigating ways it can use technology to provide a more exciting and informative experience to visitors. One recent development is the adoption of animal-tracking technology, which uses an AI-powered camera to circle an animal’s location on a display. But to make this tracking technology intuitive, it needed to provide information and offer interactivity while not obstructing the view of the animals.
Solution
Shoushan Zoo chose to implement Taiwan’s first-ever AI Smart Environmental Navigation System, a touch-driven interactive experience that lets zoo-goers track the movement of the Taiwanese black bear Bobby.
